The Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office V (CHED RO V) is committed to protecting the personal data of its stakeholders. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect information within the COMPASS System in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

2. Data Collection

We collect institutional data and personal information of authorized representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Names and contact information of institutional officials.
  • Professional details of personnel involved in program applications.
  • Institutional records and documentation for academic programs.

3. Purpose of Processing

The collection and processing of data are strictly limited to the official mandate of CHED RO V: the monitoring, evaluation, and approval of academic program applications. Data is used to ensure compliance with national standards and to provide supervisory support.

4. Data Retention and Security

CHED RO V implements robust technical and organizational security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Records are retained in accordance with the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) guidelines and the CHED records management policy.

5. Rights of Data Subjects

As a data subject, you have the right to be informed, to access, to object, to erasure or blocking, to damages, to file a complaint, to rectify, and to data portability, as provided under the Data Privacy Act.

6. Data Controller
